“Blue World”
Gary Solorzano

From the artist:

Open ocean scenery with two large humpback whales swimming peacefully while other marine animals (dolphins, sea turtles, sea lions, and fish) circle around them. NY Marine Rescue Center logo in the center.

“Marine Mammals and Turtles of Long Island”
Jeanne Santomauro Schnupp

From the artist:

Displaying some of the many types of Marine Life that are lucky to have the help of the help of the NY MARINE RESCUE CENTER. Preserving their existence in our beautiful marine habits for generations to come.

“A New Day”
Samantha VonEiff

To represent what the NY Marine Rescue Center stands for (and myself also), conservation and protection of the marine environment, I decided to paint a sea turtle heading back towards the water after rehabilitation. The medium is acrylic paint, and the size of the physical work is 18″ x 24.” There’s a Long Island sunrise filled with light pastels on the horizon to represent a warm, bright new day for the rescued animals and their second chance at life after their release. I chose a Loggerhead sea turtle as they are most common on Long Island and they also have beautiful coloring. As someone who also lives on the east end, it’s interesting knowing they are right around us, while most of us are completely unaware.

“A New Beginning”
Drew O’Connor

From the artist:

This painting shows the release of a rehabilitated sea turtle to its home in the ocean. Capturing this moment within a painting shows just how important the work of the NYMRC is because of how many animals get a second chance at life.
