I’m running the NYC Half Marathon for the New York Marine Rescue Center because ocean conservation hits close to home. My mom has spent years rescuing and rehabilitating sea turtles in North Carolina, so caring for marine life has always been part of my world. Supporting NYMRC feels like the perfect way to turn that passion into action here in New York waters.

I live in New Jersey, have run a few marathons already (apparently I like a challenge), and when I’m not training, I’m usually cooking, eating, or thinking about my next meal. I’m excited to run for a cause that does such impactful, hands-on work to protect our oceans and the animals that call them home.

My name is Sarah Rosenheck-Galanty and I am fundraising for NYMRC because I’ve always been passionate about marine life, especially turtles! Growing up on Long Island gave me a deep appreciation for our coastal environment, and running multiple half marathons has taught me the value of dedication both on the road and in protecting the creatures I love. I am so honored to be able to represent this amazing organization a second year!
